Our Story

At 5am, before the world gathers momentum, you'll usually find me in the ocean.

Surfing has always been more than a sport to me. It's clarity, connection, and a chance to reset before the day begins.

My name is Kelly Robbins, founder of Swellz, Registered Nurse, surfer, and Sunshine Coast local.

Through my nursing career, I have seen firsthand the long-term impact of cumulative sun exposure. Living in Australia, where skin cancer rates are among the highest in the world, I understand how important sun protection is—not just for today, but for the years ahead.

The idea for Swellz was born after a long surf at Little Cove in Noosa. Despite wearing sunscreen and traditional swimwear, I walked off the beach with sunburnt skin in the areas left exposed.

I began searching for a surf suit that offered serious sun protection, exceptional comfort, and a flattering fit designed specifically for women. What I found was a gap in the market.

There was no elevated, women-specific surf suit designed for long hours in the harsh Australian sun.

So I created one.

After two years of development, testing, and refinement, Swellz was launched to help women feel confident, comfortable, and protected in the water.

Every Swellz surf suit is thoughtfully designed to provide UPF50+ sun protection, freedom of movement, and coverage where it matters most—allowing women to spend more time doing what they love and less time worrying about the effects of the sun.
